Freud's Death Drive
I think it's not wrong to say that death drive often manifests itself as aggression. And I think there's a way in which what Lacan does is dielectricize the dichotomies of Freud that he says there's only one drive and that's the death drive. He never talks about it, but you could see it as an manifestation of the way in which the death drive is functioning. So if they're both really the same thing, then death drive is going to win, right? Yeah. Well, I don't know, it's, it's there and beyond the pleasure principle too, isn't it? But here it's drive towards someone else’s death
