The Commissioning of the 12 Disciples
In all three accounts, jesus explicitly names what the disciples have authority over. The only task that jesus gives to his disciples in each of the three synoptic gospels is that of driving out evil spirits. In luke ten, the lord appointed 72 others and sent them two by two ahead of him to every town and place where he was about to go.
