Democrats vote mostly for policy and Republicans vote mostly for personality, but they vote mostly for leadership. I think the Democrats are okay with having somebody who's just like a seat-filler or a proxy for the policies that they like. But I feel like Republicans are going to be a little more judgy about the leadership capabilities of the specific person. That's a problem for Trump.
