The Eastern Ukrainians Don't Want to Be a Part of Russia, but They Just Wanted Their Culture Respected
The Eastern Ukrainians didn't necessarily want to be a part of Russia, they just wanted their own culture respected. The leadership that there is at the time, and the ones that are recognized as the leaders in that territory, had to indeed align more and more with Russia. It has been a long divorce between Dunbas and Ukraine. And it's been so painful and so devastating for them that I have difficulty imagining how they can ever be reintegrated into a Ukraine except as subjects rather than full citizens.
