The Poverty Point Culture

There's not a specific known Native American tribe that's been tied to the construction of the mounds at poverty point. Instead, archaeologists have come up with a set of hallmarks that they use to define what's called poverty point culture. The site where they lived was the biggest in the region but they don't seem to have been wealthier than the surrounding communities.
