The European Union's Approach to Technology Development

The European Union has a range of instruments and policy initiatives which go from that more protective approach to investing in innovation. With the recognition that this is not something which is going away, that it is emergent, as you say, both AI and range of other technologies. And as such, you've got to strike a balance between encouraging that innovation and not sort of killing it before it gets anywhere.
