Irene Monroe was 17 years old when she left her home in Eastbourne to go on a holiday. Her parents were not alarmed, nor does it seem like they warned her to not do this. This type of behavior by these offenders was occurring in the 1920s just as it is today. But I bet people weren't as aware of this occurring back then.
