"I get weary of narratives that make it seem like if you are diligent enough or disciplined enough, you can overpower really big stressors," he says. "It would have been nice to I guess see a little bit more of of the challenges he faced versus it was all sort of shown in this very positive light." The film's bookend is his father wanting him to get on the swing set and he wouldn't do it.
