The words tora and pentateuch are references to the first five books of moses in the hebrew bible, or what christians call the old testament. Pentateuch is just the greek term for the five books, and tora is the word for for the law, or the way or the teaching. So everything we're going to be discussing in our over views of this material comes from that block of scriptural text - exodus 25 through leviticus 16.
Where do ancient Near East and modern Western culture meet? Dr. Matthew Grey explores how knowledge and origins of the ancient Israelite temple worship help inform our modern temple language by helping us learn the language of temple worship.
