The sheepskin effect is what I use for the cautious estimate. And then I have my preferred reasonable one where the sheepskin effect doesn't play any special role. So based on a few other pieces of evidence, the 80% seems reasonable. But as a parent of four kids who have been in the K through 12 system, I very much inclined me to see tons of signaling there because so much of the day is spent on stuff that is so non academic and just seem so unlikely to ever yield any actual career fruit.
