Dorothy Hodgkin was diagnosed at the age of 28 with rheumatoid arthritis. She would come back to her projects after having left them for two or three years. Her hands were very crippled but even here in her 70s, she's still working. Maggie Hamling has portrayed her with two pairs of hands.
