The Lenten Self - Jesus Gets Anger

The leper who is the one despises and outside of community needing to live in the wilderness now re enters community. But then he shares what Jesus did for him. And so at the end of this passage, Jesus himself can't enter into a city and he has to be in the wilderness. So they actually switch places. Isn't that a picture of substitution of of taking the sin and the pain away?
