The Importance of a Common Place Book
The common place book was a great tradition of the Enlightenment. Iléonard Da Vinci's notes are still available to see. He represents the joy of the common place book where ideas collide and ideas jump across silos. Walter Scott would say that the best ideas would come in as he in the first hour of his day. For me if I can get two hours out of the first at the beginning of the day that for me is the most fertile part of the day.
