The Impact of Education Savings Accounts on Rural Legislation
Rural Republicans have largely gone along with an existing school choice program that relies on tax credits, because it didn't really impact them. Leah says that once rural lawmakers understood what a threat education savings accounts were to their local schools, they weren't shy about saying that. They said, you know, in my communities, those institutions, those buildings, they are much because in a rural area. If that school closes the whole town dies.
