Menopause before the age of 45 is associated with an increased likelihood of osteoporosis and fragility fracture early in life, heart disease early in life and premature death. If a woman does enter early menopause and say is untreated and has exposure to low estrogen, it's longer than someone who would enter menopause later. "I don't think there's anyone who would not say if a woman goes through menopause before 45, that they should have estrogen," she says.
