How to Plan for Writing Units in EBW
In EB, you have a roadmap for what writing units to do and in what order. The same thing intentionally mapping out your units while batch planning is 100% applicable to reading as well,. vocabulary as well, grammar as well? Every single other part of what we get to teach as ELA teachers. And so I actually started my year off in eighth grade with the novel or the house on Mango Street. It's short, but yes, it's really interesting. It also ties in beautifully to teaching narrative writing with them. Then I can move into the EBW approach, which is that literary analysis foundation that Jessica just talked about.
