The Absurdity of Milan Condéret
There's an affinity with French culture and perhaps other writers in the English language, like Samuel Beckett. Is there something there to connect Milan Condéret to France? Yes, I think so, because we often talk about magic realism when we talk about Condéret. There's really a link in my view between Apollinaire, Beckett, and then Condérets. And it's funny how he had completely retreated from public eye, and yet you could bump into him on the streets of Paris as a sort of living ghost.
