The Priests and the Laypeople Eating Holy Things

The tabernacle is heaven on earth, right? It's a little microcosm of what God intends to do at the end of time when he brings the new creation in its fullness. The Lord didn't want to create some kind of a mafia situation where the priests have this sort of black market of available holy food. And so strict regulations are placed upon who can partake.
