The Role of Hiccups in Neurologic Vertigo
Hiccups with brainstem lesions must be something with like the medulla, the medullary regions that are involved in visceral stuff. So if we find out that this is sudden onset vertigo, and as I said, we're really only thinking about three things then a posterior circulation stroke, a stibular neuritis, and an intoxication. And now we put hiccups on top of that. If we want one lesion to explain this, shouldn't get hiccups from the inner ear, shouldn’t get hiccup from the eighth nerve. It's bubbling up, but I don't have a source for it.
