The Knight in Shining Armor and the Damsel in Distress
The damsel in distress has a collapsed identity whereas the knight in shining armor's identity tends to be intact but cracked and have holes in it from all the battle scars. In self determinants the damsels in distress are waiting for their partner usually to define them because they don't have a definition of their own. Women in particular have a tendency to do that they will twist themselves into pretzels to become a reflection of whatever it is they think their partner wants to keep so it is a pattern that happens on both sides, we will talk more about that in our next episode as we go into what happens when these two people date each other.
