The Flight Engineer's Journey to the Rescue of Flight 980

Ray Valdez flew for Eastern Airlines for 20 years, the last decade or so on the route that Flight 980 traveled from Miami to Paraguayan back. Valdez would have been the flight engineer on the plane that crashed if he hadn't swapped shifts to avoid traveling on New Year's. A few months after the NTSB in Alta called off the search, Valdez organized an expedition to the crash site. He wanted to film a movie that could raise money for the families of the flight attendants.
