The Role of Monitoring in the Trucking Industry

Tom Hubbard is a strategy professor at Kellogg. He's been studying the use of monitoring tools in the trucking industry since the 1980s. Onboard computers allowed employers to determine whether drivers were preserving the value of their vehicles by observing their behavior on the road. It enabled dispatchers to see real-time data and easily connect them with more efficient routes.
