The Importance of Expectations

I'm constantly trying to manage your expectations down and get them used to these look like getting used to being able to enjoy something without being good at it. It's, you know, just realizing that the stakes are just not as high as you think. So you should just try it. And you can, and you should expect to suck at everything that you start to do when anything that you try to do,. That's normal. The fact that you suck in the beginning has not violated your expectations. If your expectations were not violated, then you're like, "There's no dissonance there," he says.
