There's no central love story. Salim isn't his brother. He's just like a friend who appears in a couple of chapters. And I will say there's a narrative reason for all of this, which is fine. It no matter where this book ends up in time, if you can even tell, it's just feels completely disconnected from everything else. A lot of JJ thinks the movie was filled with energy and excitement at the time but he's talking about the movie now. This is in Limited Darjeeling Limited on Blu-ray/DVD next week.
