Lita is introduced as Mon Mothma's daughter, which is a very small nod to an EU reference of her existence. Lita also has a brother who is in so far, unmentioned character in the canon. And his name is Jobin and Jobin in the EU at least died on Hoth in a story there. But that's probably something for another time. I was just a little surprised because Lita has never been one of those characters that's just popped up in an EU novel or anything like that.
