The Performance of a Service Level Event

The initial plateau was more or less linear elastic, and that was the adhesive, acting similar to say a weld. And so you had this really high initial rotational stiffness up into where the adhesive sheared due to that applied moment. But once the bolt pattern was fully loaded, we actually reached an ultimate, what I would call an ultimate strength that even exceeded the adhesive strength. We pushed the test all the way to physical failure. We actually ripped the flange off of the web. It was really cool to watch.
