The Difference Between Castilian and Catalonian
The spanish that we know to day is basically castilian. But in catalona, a different language evolved known as catalan riht. And by about 12 hundred or so, we can see distinct catalan language. It has a different sound system, which is very different from castilian. In some ways, it has some more similarities with southern french languages like oxitan and provencal.
