Leila Latipova is a reporter with the Moscow Times, an independent English language newspaper. She says she first noticed that Russia was recruiting teachers to go to Ukraine and teach there. Most such postings they are advertised through private channels, she says. There have been some teachers who noted that they have seen official directives from Russia's Ministry of Education which advertise site positions too.
Russia is paying teachers big bucks to teach a pro-Kremlin curriculum in Ukraine. It’s part of a campaign to formally annex occupied Ukraine into the Russian Federation.
