Comedians are expected to be quick on the jaw and really funny all the time. But improvisation is a skill that every single one of us has even the most heavily written comics. I believe that you can't write a joke even if it's a rehearsed a million times and repeated a hundred times a day. You just can't do it. It would be a castle built on sand.
