The Enlightenment Is the Only Foundation for Western Imperialism

In 1994, Eric Hobbesborne wrote in the New Left Review a warning to his fellow leftists. He said an interpretation of the Enlightenment as quote, a conspiracy of dead white men in periwigs would provide the intellectual foundation for Western imperialism. Today, we hear historians of the left saying the Enlightenment is the problem, but there we are. 30 years ago, a communist historian like Hobbesborne even could still say what we've been given by the Enlightenment was the only basis we have for society in which we can get on. I absolutely endorse that comment 100% for sure.
