The Advantages of High Flow Versus CPAP Versus BIPAP
There's a number of conditions that we frequently encounter either before patients are intubated. Even after they've been intubated and are not exubated, patients can have cardiogenic pulmonary edema, COPD, obesity, respiratory failure. So I would say with all these techniques, you need to have a first try and see what's the result for the patient because it's a bit difficult to predict. But high flow would be a very good first choice for many patients and the CPAP could be a next step.
