The Universe Is a Flow of Change

For Plato this is something that's bad and it's something that we need to escape from. Even someone who tried to implement his ideal city would be hard pressed to actually preserve it over a very long period of time. So not only did Plato have this very hierarchical attitude about society and about nature, but he also thought that you can get away from this through some kind of permanent enduring philosophical truth.
