The Dangerous Misreading of Paul's Text

Frank Laudic, an early 1900s Methodist and missionary, said God was holding certain experiments to see how much each of us could hold of him. If he's not putting his mind willfully on the things of the spirit, then what? Then it drifts effortlessly back to the harbor of the flesh. There is a very dangerous misreading of the passage that can enter our theology in faith if we don't follow Paul's logic carefully. But from the viewpoint of heaven, there are only two mindsets, two dispositions, that being in the spirit, in the flesh,. children of grace, children of wrath, full stop, not open for discussion.
