The Alchemist and the Treasurer in the Pyramid

The boy goes to the pyramid and digs a hole but finds nothing. He then learns that the treasurer is actually back at his house in spain. Why did he have to go all the way to egypt? And why not dream about directly? Oh, the goald right here in the church, right under my feet in spain, right? Why?
