I Bonds With 9.62% Interest Rate Could Not Be Processed by Deadline
Many investors are scrambling to buy I bonds, which pay a 9.62% interest rate. If you purchase them by August, October 28th, the Treasury Department said it's overwhelmed site might not be able to process all the orders in time. Get this during just the final week of October, just one week, the Treasury issued $1.9 for the $5 billion in I bonds more than the total for the fiscal year in 2021. Just one year, some 3.7 million new accounts were created on the site, more than 2.4 million for the prior 10 years combined.
