The Role of Vaccines in Preventing RSV Infection

RSV is a very important pathogen in infants, particularly those born prematurely. Unfortunately, infants have a relatively undeveloped immunity and respond poorly to vaccines. They followed the infants for medically attended lower respiratory tract RSV and for severe disease. There were few serious adverse events and there did not appear to be an increased risk of fetal loss in this small group of people.
