A Hinkle Seasons

This is my second year running at Hay. I actually launched my book, A Hinkle Seasons, there in a lovely conversation with Horatio Claire. And this year I'm changing seats. I'm chairing and chairing. An absolutely fascinating event on the last day when I'm speaking to Alice Farnan and Leah Broad about their two new books. They have written an amazing group biography about four women who have been forgotten really in the history of classical music.Alice Farnan is writing about her life and about conducting as a woman within the classical music world. It's going to be suitably chastised, I think, for a sort of an androgyne approach to history.
