The History of the Law of Consecration

Some scholars have called what you articulated a folk doctrine, meaning it kind of came from the saints rather than from God. And that's true. You don't find it revealed. That's not a revealed truth. Joseph Smith didn't have it. Wilford would have didn't. If we believe it, it can get in the way of believing revealed doctrine. So I wanted to study and then share what I learned from what the revelations actually say about the law of consecration. Yeah. Well, really that idea is the reason for writing the book because I took that idea that you just articulated with me to my covenant making experience in the temple.
