In the 1970s America was clamping down on pollution. But stocks of even banned pollutants were still rising since many like DDT accumulate in the environment, often for decades or longer. Lead has been accumulating in the Greenland ice caps exponentially and freshwater pollution seems to be going up. The project is absolutely not anti-technological, most of us are in fact rightly to be called technologists. One important question is, will further industrial growth permit us to clean up our environments?
