Reading Gerard has definitely made me more apocalyptic. I don't think as apocalyptic as Gerard himself, but it's definitely made me see that sort of apocalypse, violent apocalypse, or the end of civilization as we know it is closer than most people think. The term he uses is suspended polarity. Too magnus, that haven't touched yet, but you're actually pulling them apart. There's a lot of potential energy built up. And so probably what makes me more better or worse at that as a society than we were in the past? We're both extremely better and extremely bad at it.
