The Oppositional Gaze of Black Women

Even in this opposition, there was something missing. The people who actually had the power and the wealth to go ahead and make aack cinema were mostly black men. And so what we saw was a replication of a similar kind of oppression,. Now not at the expense of all black people, but at the expenses of black women.
