The Noble Savage Myth
The idea of the noble savage myth can be used to put down attempts to draw lessons and inspirations from indigenous societies. There's this presumption that it must be white people projecting their ideas on to indigenous people, rather than white people stealing ideas from indigenous people. i don't believe in intellectual property, necessarily, but i do believe that credit should be given where credit is due.
