We are not passive victims of our thought life but active agents in the gardening of our mind. We have the ability and responsibility to choose what we allow to find a home in our mind Jesus and his word or something or someone else. With it we have the opportunity to open the deepest part of ourself to the beauty and presence and goodness the glory of Christ. What you think is who you will become, says Augustine. The more we turn our mind to God  the more we will become like God.
