The Quad and the Byden Administration
For the byden administration, when it came in, it had a particular set of goals and challenges that it was facing. The quad seemed to be a useful mechanism to help them with some of these objectives and approaches that they wanted to follow. Within a month of king office, you saw the administration very quickly and speedily host a ministerial of the quad in february. And then in march, on march twelfth, they hosted a virtual deviministration hosted a virtual quad leaders summit. Theye had never been a leader's summit. This was unprecedented and striking because in january, the indian and japanese statements the quad would not even use the word quad.
