Are You Creating a Future for All of Us?

Harvard Business School was working on a large project about the competitiveness of the US economy in 2009. When I joined the faculty, I noticed that there was a variable that had been isolated through some survey work we'd done with our almost 100,000 global alumni. And what we came to understand is that, yeah, there were real deficiencies in the skills development system,. The education system in the U.S., but that a lot of the problems companies were observing and frankly complaining about were often substantially of their own making.
