The Importance of Streaming on Albums
By the time 21 came out, it became really the largest album of the 20 first century. And that gave her a disproportionate ability to put thumb on scale. One of the reasons why she captured so many of those records was because her fan base went out and bought a physical album. i can't see this move without hearkening back to some of the choices that her team has made. It doesn't lock you in and make you listen to the whole album, but it does really put a focus on listening through the entirety of the album.
