The Importance of Mexico's Foreign Policy
Since NAFTA 1994, one might have thought that Mexico could become a country with an attitude towards world issues more similar to other countries. And that has not been the case. This government in particular and the previous one up to a certain extent also feel more comfortable with this sort of third world-ish, non-aligned, neutralist foreign policy. They're not comfortable with the notion that Mexico belongs to the sort of group of poor rich countries.
