Sidney Poitier went from being the biggest thing in the world in 1968 to irrelevant by 1970. After these 70-minute movies, he kind of pointed out that there was definitely mainstream movies which didn't do well. I cannot think of any other case in the history of the movies with somebody who has had such foresight and understanding of audience as Sidney Poitier did.
