I wanted people to read the book because there's an important message. We're beginning to lose touch with what I would call rational analysis in favor of the emotional impact, which is what catches attention on social media. And my fear is that it's really in the nature of social media that the emotional is tending to leech over into the rational. That's why I spent quite a lot of the book explaining some of the analytical tools that intelligence analysts use so we can all have better grounded evidence-based decisions.
