At birth, a human baby's brain is only about a quarter of its adult size. But by the time the baby is aged two, so it's a child, now the brain is three quarters of the size of the adult brain. So as the brain begins to start doing its work, a connections are pruned or they're broken. And this is all while the baby's still inside the womb.
